Biografia

 

Cristina Menni, vive e lavora a Pietrasanta. Intraprende studi umanistici ma al contempo cresce frequentando lo studio del nonno pittore, collaborando con il padre designer di gioielli, fino a dedicarsi totalmente all'arte.

La sua pittura esprime la potenza intensa della creazione e, attraverso la combinazione di una molteplicità di materiali sia industriali che organici, da' vita ad una matericità pesante ed istintiva. 

Ogni tela racconta l' azione, un atto di forza, un'energia primordiale da cui nasce una superficie-mondo, potente come i materiali in essa contenuti ma ad un tempo fragile come la realtà che rappresenta. L'artista lascia tutto in bilico, suggerendo una riflessione sulle diverse possibilità dell'essere. È veramente ogni sua tela un muro impenetrabile, come il gesto-materia primo o è espressione della fragilità delle cose terrene che si sgretolano sotto le unghie? 

 

Cristina Menni lives and works in the town of Pietrasanta in Tuscany, Italy. She undertakes humanisties studies but at the same time grew up by attending the studio of her grandfather as painter and collaborating with her father, a jewelry designer. 

The painting express the intense power of creation with a heavy and instinctive materiality, combining a variety of both industrial and organic materials.

Each canvas tells of the action, an act of strength, a primordial energy from which a surface-world is born, as powerful as the materials it contains but at the same time fragile as the reality it represents. The artist leaves everything in the balance, suggesting a reflection on the different possibilities of being. Is each of her paintings really an impenetrable wall, like the gesture-raw material or is it an expression of the fragility of earthly things that crumble under the nails?
